The Gratiaen Trust Young Writers Club
The Gratiaen Trust Young Writers Club is an exciting new initiative that aims to bring together young people of Sri Lanka who share a passion for writing. The club seeks to create a community of young writers who can support, help and inspire each other to achieve their literary aspirations. Writing can often be a solitary activity, and this club offers an opportunity for young writers to meet and collaborate with one another, share their work and get feedback.
The club meetings will take place every two months, with the first meeting scheduled for June. The club will explore various forms of creative writing such as novels, short stories, poems, movie and television scripts, among others.
Through this club, the Gratiaen Trust aims to create a community of young people who share a passion for the arts and who can work together to develop their writing skills. The club offers a unique opportunity to bring together young people from diverse backgrounds to learn from each other and foster creativity and imagination.
The Gratiaen Trust Young Writers Club will also contribute to the Trust's long-term goals of developing and promoting Sri Lankan literature. The club's expanded database of young people engaged in literary activity will be a valuable resource for future Trust activities and help promote the work of the Trust and JKF.
Overall, the Gratiaen Trust Young Writers Club is an excellent platform for young writers to showcase their talent and gain valuable feedback from their peers. The club is a positive step towards fostering a love for literature among young people in Sri Lanka, and we are excited to see the impact it will have on the literary landscape of the country.
Open to writers between the ages of 16 and 30 years.
