Prof. Vini Vitharana passes away aged 91

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Prof. Vini Vitharana. The talented academic passed away on Monday, December 2nd, 2019, at the age of 91.

Prof. Vitharana was also the winner of the H.A.I. Goonetileke prize for translation in 2018 for his translation of the Kavsilumuna: The Crest Gem of Poetry. He also spoke at the awards ceremony in May this year.
