Mythil’s Secret

Evening Plans

“Well, we didn’t find the yaka, Ianthi said as they sat on the steps to the veranda.  She was enjoying the ripe brown siyambala after Mythil had shown her how to crack open the shell.

It had felt like forever in the jungle but when Mythil and Ianthi had peeped in on their parents from one of the hall windows they had realized with relief that they hadn’t been missed.

‘What will you do now?’
